Michael Resigns from Choir

My name is Michael, I am 14 years old, and I have been a Cathedral Choir chorister since I was six years old.

Jacinta has been an integral part of my formative years: Giving me insight into the importance of music within the church setting and improving my singing, even through the past two years when my voice was changing and cracking. She has provided me with a lot of support and helped me gain confidence in my new voice and new role as a Young Baritone. Most importantly, she has helped me and my peers by guiding us in our faith formation and serving as a role model to us in not only learning more about our religion but also in living our Faith.

Despite these, the future of the music programme is and has already been affected by her removal. I believe that Jacinta should not have been made redundant. In my 14 years in this world, I know when injustice was caused and who caused this. I want to make my voice known.

Moving forward, my family and I are aware that this will affect our finances, but we will stand by our decision.

I will not sing for the Cathedral until Jacinta has been reinstated.
